The precincts of this Rozanji Temple is the former mansion site of Lady Murasaki. Almost all her numerous literary writings, including the most famous “The Tale of Genji” and “Lady Murasaki’s Diaries” were produced at this mansion.
A new tourist spot was added to “Kyoto Gyoen National Park” where “Kyoto Imperial Palace” is located in. The facility originally for welcoming the state guest, called “Kyoto State Guest House”, is now generally open to the public.

This is a type of sakura called the“Shidare Sakura” (“shidare” meaning weeping). And is particularly famous for its pretty small flowers and early-blooming.
This Sakura has a specific name “Konoe Sakura”.
