It is conveniently close to Kyoto station.

If you have to spend a couple hours at Kyoto station, such as train transition, we recommend that you visit "Shosei-en Garden".  Just a 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station. And from now to the summer, the water lily is at its best.

Standing in the garden you may think of the "Tale of Genji".

Perhaps you know things about the Tale of Genji.
It is said that this 8-acre garden with tea rooms and the Chinese bridge etc. imitated the garden of "Minamoto-no-Toru" who is said to be the model for the main character "Hikaru Genji" in the Tale of Genji. And was built by the 3rd Shogun "Iemitsu" of the Tokugawa period in 1641.
