Takao Area

About an hour trip by bus from Kyoto station. Takao is located in ”Kitayama(Northern Mountain)” area of the northern side of Kyoto basin. The autumn foliage season is more crowded than cherry blossoms, but just after the cherry blossoms are over, one side of the mountain slope is covered with azalea purple and entertains local people. Yes it is information unknown to tourists.
In any case, since it is a far place to visit, please enjoy at least with pictures

Around Saimyo-ji and Jingo-ji

The valley below this mountain is known as the Mecca of sightseeing in autumn with the famous temple 'Saimyo-ji' and 'Jingo-ji' with maple tree lively.

Access

The bus will be useful. We can not recommend bicycles because you have to cross over a mountain.
There is bus from Kyoto station. JR bus to "Takao" or "Shuzan." Get off at "Makinoo"
Note, getting off bus stop is not "Takao" but "Makinoo".
Traveling time about a hour.  Fare 670 JPY.  Buses are two to four per hour.
Since there is a Ninna-ji Temple on the route, you can visit Ninna-ji first and then head for Takao.
From Ninna-ji, JR bus about 20 minutes. Fare 410JPY

White cherry blossoms in Nakagawa villege.

It is at the entrance of the "Nakagawa" village which is 20-minutes-drive further from Takao.
